Website and beta-access privacy notice

1. Privacy contact

2. Beta-access requests

When you request beta access, YProbe collects your name, email address, optional company or lab, and oscilloscope model. These details are used to review the request, contact you about that request, and—if approved— issue a single-use invitation and installer link.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: taking steps at your request before providing beta access. Supplying your name, email and oscilloscope is necessary to review the request; without them, YProbe cannot process it. Company information is optional.

A request is retained for up to 90 days from submission or review and then deleted by the scheduled retention process. YProbe does not add applicants to a newsletter or sell their details.

3. Operational and security data

The website and API may process limited technical data needed to deliver and secure the service, such as request timing, route, response status, security events and rate-limit identifiers. The application stores rate-limit identities as keyed digests rather than raw IP or email values. Infrastructure providers may necessarily process IP addresses when carrying network traffic.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in operating a reliable service, preventing abuse and investigating security incidents. YProbe limits these records to what is needed for those purposes and applies documented retention periods.

4. Email and service providers

Personal data is disclosed only as needed to providers acting for the service:

• Amazon Web Services hosts the beta API and database in the Europe (Stockholm) Region and delivers transactional account email through Amazon SES.
• Cloudflare provides DNS, website delivery, security services and installer storage.
• Zoho provides the YProbe support and operator email mailboxes.

These providers may process limited data from locations outside the European Economic Area where their services require it. Where applicable, transfers are subject to an EU adequacy decision or contractual and organisational safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Analytics cookies

Google Analytics is optional and is not loaded until you select Accept in the cookie banner. If accepted, Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga to measure visits and page use. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You can decline without losing any website functionality. You can also withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings; YProbe then stops future analytics storage and attempts to remove its analytics cookies from this site.

6. Your rights

Subject to the conditions in data-protection law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.

Send requests to privacy@yprobe.com. YProbe may request reasonable information to verify that the request concerns you. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

7. Automated decisions and changes

Beta-access requests are reviewed by a person. YProbe does not use automated decision-making or profiling to decide who receives access.

This notice may be updated when the beta or its providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes affecting existing participants will be communicated where required.
